Icy Conditions To Delay School Start Time In Basking Ridge
All Bernards Township Schools will be on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule on Wednesday to allow for de-icing.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — All Bernards Township Schools will be on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule on Wednesday in order to de-ice schools, announced the district on Tuesday night.
Ridge High will begin at 9:35 a.m. and William Annin will begin at 9:45 a.m. and all elementary schools will begin at 10:45 a.m.
The buses are on a 2-hour delay. There is no beforecare and lunch will only be served at the high school.

Students at all other schools are encouraged to bring snacks.
Temperatures are expected to drop to around 13 degrees on Tuesday night. Bernards Township saw 1.4 inches of snow fall overnight on Monday which will cause any wet surfaces to freeze.

"Untreated water and slush will almost certainly become rock-hard by morning as temps drop well into the teens across most of the area tonight. In addition, winds will make it feel 10-15 degrees colder! Bundle up!" according to the US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly.


There won't be much of a warm-up for the rest of the week either with temperatures staying around 25 to 30 degrees.

Tuesday Night: Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 13. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 25. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 16. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Thursday: Cloudy, with a high near 32. Southwest wind around 10 mph.
Thursday Night
A slight chance of snow after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Friday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Friday Night: A chance of snow before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
