Learn How To Read The New Nutrition Facts Label
The Bernards Township Health Department and Shop Rite of Chester to host "Judge a Food by Its Label: The NEW Nutrition Facts Label" program

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department will sponsor a program in conjunction with Shop Rite of Chester entitled “Judge a Food by Its Label: The NEW Nutrition Facts Label."
The program will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Chester Library located at 250 West Main St., Chester.
The program will be presented by Grace McGuirk, RD, Registered Dietitian from Shop Rite of Chester, and Cheryl Komline, MS, RD, the Public Health Nutritionist from the Bernards Township Health Department.

Participation is free but registration is requested. Register for this program on the events calendar at www.chesterlib.org.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has evaluated the Nutrition Facts label for packaged foods in light of new scientific information. This takes into account the link between diet and chronic diseases such as obesity and heart disease. The new label will make it easier for consumers to make better informed food choices.
