'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'​ To Be Performed In Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — To get you into the Halloween spirit, the Bernards Township Library will be hosting an interactive one-man performance of 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' on Wednesday night.

Actor Neill Hartley will perform the adaptation written by Washington Irving, which tells the story of the headless horseman and the schoolmaster's world of sleepy Tarry Town.

Hartley is a professional actor who has performed with many local and regional theaters and is on the theater faculty of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The program will be followed by a discussion about this 19th century author who also wrote Rip Van Winkle and will end with a dramatic reading of the story's postscript.

The event will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bernards Township Library at 32 South Maple St. in Basking Ridge.

This program is funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
