Lord Stirling Stable Can Make Valentine's Day More Special

You’re already her Knight in Shining Armor. Here’s your chance to make her feel like a Queen!

Somerset County Park Commission’s Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, announces new Marriage Proposal Packages to make a special moment even more memorable.

Stable staff will provide a leisurely horseback ride through Lord Stirling Park woods and meadows on quiet, steady trail horses. Proposal options include “Will you marry me?” messages along the trail; a place to surprise her with that special question upon return to the courtyard; or your own ideas for staff to implement. If you want family and friends to be in on the excitement, staff can take up to 30 people on a hayride* to the campfire area/outdoor gathering space.

Package #1 includes a one-hour trail ride for two, for a fee of $100.00. Package #2 includes a half hour trail ride for two, for a fee of $50.00.

Both packages include pre-planning with our coordinator and one hour of pre- or post-ride preparation (placing of your signage, scattering of your flowers or petals, etc.). All rides are led by a trail guide who will discreetly watch out for your safety while giving you space for private conversation.
