Man Breaks Into Business, Eats Food, Sleeps On Couch In Peapack & Gladstone: PD
The Peapack & Gladstone Police released its blotter, which also included warrant arrests.
PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE, NJ — A burglary and warrant arrests were reported recently in the Peapack & Gladstone police blotter.
On March 13 at around 9:30 a.m.: Officers responded to a Main Street business for the report of a commercial burglary. Upon arrival Officers were advised that surveillance video showed an unknown man had broken into one of the offices of the business at around 9:50 p.m. The suspect proceeded to eat food from the kitchen area, use the bathroom and sleep on a couch. The unknown man then left the business. Further investigation revealed that the man got onto an NJ Transit Train and left the area. Residents are urged to contact the Peapack & Gladstone Police Department at 908-234-0626 if they see any suspicious activity.
On March 18 at 6:25 p.m.: Det. Nick Ortiz was patrolling Route 206 near Holland Road when he saw a vehicle traveling south on Route 206 with a busted headlight. As the vehicle proceeded south on Route 206 it began to drift over the double yellow lines and into the shoulder. Upon conducting a motor vehicle stop, Ortiz learned that there was an active warrant for $750 out of the Watchung Borough Municipal Court for the registered owner, Vicente A. Najeramuriel. Upon speaking to the operator of the vehicle he advised Ortiz that his name was Daniel Castro. Ortiz was able to locate a photo ID through the Motor Vehicle Commission, which indicated that Daniel Castro was Vicente A. Najeramuriel. Ortiz also contacted the Watchung Borough Police Department and was advised that an officer would respond to the location to identify the driver. Upon the arrival of the Watchung Officer, it was confirmed that Daniel Castro was in fact Vicente A. Najeramuriel. Subequently, Najeramuriel was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters and charged with hindering apprehension. Najeramuriel was then lodged in the Somerset County Jail.

On March 27 at 11:55 p.m.: Officer Luke Tamburello was patrolling Route 206 near Pottersville Road when he conducted a random license plate inquiry on a vehicle traveling south. Upon receiving the return information from the Motor Vehicle Commission, he was advised that there was an active warrant for $750 out of the Brick Township Municipal Court for the registered owner, Moshe Y. Green of Lakewood. Upon identifying the driver, a motor vehicle stop was conducted. Subsequently, Moshe was processed on the warrant and released with a new court date.
On March 30 at 8:31 p.m.: Officer Schifano was conducting speed enforcement on Route 206 when his attention was drawn to a vehicle traveling north on Route 206 over the posted speed limit. Upon stopping the vehicle, Schifano identified the operator as Mufutau A. Taiwo of Newark. Further investigation revealed that Taiwo had an active warrant for $500 out of the Ridgefield Park Municipal Court. Subsequently, Taiwo was processed on the warrant and released with a new court date.
