Candidate Forum For Bernards Township School Board To Be Held Thursday Night

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Residents will have the chance to meet the six candidates on Thursday, Sept. 21 running for the three, three-year seats on the Bernards Township Board of Education.

The League of Women Voters and members of the Ridge High School Empowerment for Political Participation (REPP) are hosting the candidate forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge.

Candidates will answer questions in a moderated forum for residents to be able to learn about the candidate's plans for Bernards Township Schools.

The event will be moderated by the League of Women Voters and RHS student volunteers.

Bernards Township Board of Education candidates include:

• Lawrence Rascio (with Marcus and Weber running under the slogan "Securing Kids' Education")
• Deborah Marcus (with Rascio and Weber running under the slogan "Securing Kids' Education")
• Erin Weber (with Rascio and Marcus running under the slogan "Securing Kids' Education")
• Jennifer White (running under the slogan "Experienced Effective Educator")
• Janice Corrado (with Shaw running under the slogan "Responsible Informed Leadership")
• David Shaw (with Corrado running under the slogan "Responsible Informed Leadership")

Jennifer White and Rascio are both incumbents on the Board. Corrado previously ran and lost in 2022 for a seat on the school board.

New Jersey's general election will be held on Nov. 7. The three winning candidates will serve a 3-year term on the Board of Education.
