Middle School Hub Clubbers Raise Awareness About Meds Disposal

They urge residents to 'DISPOSE OF MEDS. KEEP KIDS SAFE!!'

30 middle school students, members of the Community in Crisis Hub Club who hail from five different schools in the area, worked on a marketing campaign to raise awareness among all residents on the importance of safe disposal of unwanted, unused and expired medications in the home. Their posters spelled out 'DISPOSE YOUR MEDS. KEEP KIDS SAFE!!'

Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10am to 2pm is National Take Back Day when everyone is urged to empty their homes of unneeded meds and safely dispose of pills, liquids, patches and inhalers at their local police station. Visit https://takebackday.dea.gov/?g... for more information. As one Hub Club member commented, 'It's important that the grown ups do this to remove the temptation from anyone visiting their home. Kids can't be expected to make the right decisions all the time.'

Hub Club members work on community service projects each Thursday at the Community Hub in Bernardsville, home to Community in Crisis. Students enjoy a cell-free zone of volunteer opportunities, learning about healthy lifestyle options, and togetherness.
