Morgan Stanley Angels Win Basking Ridge Little League AL Championship

Four RBIs from Danny Cimaglia led the Angels to a 6-1 victory over the A's.

After the Indians 9-6 win over the Orioles and the Angels 10-3 win over the A's in the Basking Ridge Little League Semifinals, the stage was set for the two hottest teams in the league to go head to head for the championship.

The Angels jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. P.J. Shannon knocked home Ryan Leach, who singled to start off the inning, for the first run of the game in the second inning, and then Danny Cimaglia blasted a three run homer over the right center wall in the third to make it 4-0.

On the mound, it was a classic duel between the Angels' John Fasciano, who went 5 2/3 innings for the win, and Zack Keller, who went all six innings for the Indians.

The Indians put a run on the board in the fifth inning, when Colin Morrissey, who doubled to left field, was singled home by Akhil Alapaty. Shawn Zimmerman's great plays in center field helped keep the Indians to only one run.

In the sixth, the Angels added two more runs, as Danny Cimaglia tripled home Shawn Zimmerman and scored on a ground ball by star pitcher, John Fasciano. The Angels won the game by a final score of 6-1.
