Mount Prospect Holds Annual Teachers vs. 5th Grade Students Volleyball Game

Education; Schools; Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect School held its annual teachers vs. 5th grade students volleyball game after school on Friday, February 12th. The Mount Prospect School PTO, administrators, and teachers worked together to plan the event that raises money for fifth grade student activities. To show their MPS Panther Pride, PTO parents helped fifth graders choreograph moves and perform at a pep rally during a school-wide assembly. The Physical Education teachers engaged students in newcomb games for the last few weeks to prepare them for the game; additionally, teachers created their own pep rally video around a Star Wars theme to spark motivation and encourage school spirit. Newcomb is a sport that teaches students the fundamentals of volleyball and is beneficial in promoting the development of hand-eye coordination motor skills. Students, families, administrators, and teachers had a blast at this traditional MPS community event!
