Outstanding Women to be Honored
The deadline for reservations for the 2016 Outstanding Women in Somerset County awards dinner is March 1.

Tickets are on sale for the 2016 Outstanding Women in Somerset County awards dinner sponsored by the county Commission on the Status of Women.
This year’s program will be held Friday, March 18, at The Imperia at 1714 Easton Ave., Somerset. A cash bar at 6 p.m. will be followed by a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person. Advance reservations are required by March 1; no reservations will be taken at the door. “We have many women in Somerset County doing amazing things every day,” said Freeholder Director Patricia Walsh, commission liaison. “It is most appropriate that during Women’s History Month, we take the time to publicly recognize them and say thank you.”
Honorees are women who live in Somerset County. This year’s recipients by category are: Arts/Entertainment/Sports – Hillarie Scannelli of Hillsborough; Business/Entrepreneurs/Information Technology – Jacqueline Miller of North Plainfield; Environmental Initiatives – Marjorie Margentino of Bridgewater; Government/Public/Social Service – Lois Bennett of Hillsborough; Hometown Hero – Joyce Walker of Bridgewater; Journalism/Media/Law – Paulette Brown of Hillsborough; Medicine – Dr. Laurene Wolf of Hillsborough; Volunteerism – Donna Emanuelli of Bridgewater; and the Shirley Noble Lifetime Achievement Award – Peggy Matzen of Basking Ridge and Debbie Sestokas of Warren.
Guest speaker Katie Meyler of Bernardsville will be honored with an “Outstanding Global Impact Award.” She is the founder of More Than Me and is a TIME Magazine Person of the Year.
