Overturned Tractor Trailer Closes I-78 Ramp Tuesday

A tractor-trailer flipped onto its side on the Interstate 78 exit ramp to Interstate 287 north in Somerset County on Tuesday.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — Firefighters were busy at work on Tuesday helping with an overturned tractor-trailer on the Interstate 78 exit ramp in Somerset County.

The I-78 eastbound Exit 29 ramp to I-287 northbound was closed at 11 a.m. as Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department and other emergency officials worked to clear the truck flipped on its side.

"Thankfully no entrapment or injuries," said Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department.

Crews cleared up after about an hour on the scene. However, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced the ramp would remain closed into the evening commute for emergency repairs to the guide rail. Read More: I-78 Exit To I-287 Closed For Emergency Repairs In Somerset Co.
