Pedestrian Hit, Killed By NJ Transit Train In Somerset County
The fatal crash happened just before midnight on Thursday.

FAR HILLS, NJ — One person is dead after they were hit and fatally injured by an NJ Transit train late Wednesday night.
At about 11 p.m., the Gladstone Branch Train #440 — which left Gladstone at 10:49 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 12:22 a.m. — fatally hit a pedestrian just west of the Far Hills Station in Far Hills, according to NJ Transit Spokesman Everett Merrill.
No injuries were reported to the three customers and crew on board, said Merrill.

The Gladstone Branch was temporarily suspended between Bernardsville and Gladstone but has since resumed. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
An identification of the person has not been released yet.
