Local resident hosts a house party to kick off the congressional campaign of Douglas Herbert.
Douglas Herbert, Democratic Candidate for the New Jersey's 11th District, attended a house party in Basking Ridge as part of his Summer Campaign Kick Off. The party was the first stop in day filled with five similar events covering the district.
David Ferdinand, Chairman of the Bernards Township Democratic Committee, hosted the event in his home. About 30 local residents, supporters and well wishers were in attendance.
Mr. Herbert had some brief remarks for the gathering. He discussed his concerns for the jobless and his support for programs to assist entrepreneurs to start their own business and hire new people. He also spoke about "Off 2040", a program designed to move the US off of fossel fuels by 2040.'
