The Power of Love Warms the World
Songbird donates clothes and toiletries to help those Veterans who once served for our country and toys to kids who cannot afford any!
The day kicking off the holiday month, December 1st, was cold, icy, and dreary. However, 4 parents and 7 members from the Songbird youth volunteer group in Basking Ridge were kept warm by the love in their hearts for giving and donating. Driven by this passion, the weather was not going to keep them from continuing their tradition. Veterans who worked hard overseas, the homeless, and disadvantaged children who aren’t able to celebrate a joyous Christmas deserve gifts and support. Songbird made their wishes come true by helping them have a merry Christmas.
Our highly respected Veterans were once overseas, working hard to keep our country safe and the world at peace. We should be doing whatever we can in order to support them. So the Songbirds ventured out to a nearby Costco and loaded up on comfy flannel, toasty socks, and thick gloves.
Giving back to the community is the Songbirds’ mission. Remember as children, how happy we would be to run downstairs to our Christmas trees and find gifts? But there are kids who don’t get to experience this. The Songbirds decided to send blessings to those kids, so they bought gifts from age 5 to 10 for boys and girls. Then they wrapped those toy cars, stuffed animals, and school supplies individually with love and care inside.

With humble and loving hearts, Songbird members from multiple counties came out during the Thanksgiving weekend, gathering in Basking Ridge to reach out to the veterans, homeless, and disadvantaged children. The Songbirds think of giving not as a duty, but as a privilege. They want others to experience the joy they do, and they are forever grateful!
