Power Outages Rise To 25,000 In Somerset County

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — More than 25,000 Somerset County residents are without power as of 7:25 p.m. Wednesday due to downed trees and wires.

JCP&L reports 11,538 are without power in the county with the most in Basking Ridge with 2,870 followed by Warren with 2,860.

Estimated restoration could be as late as 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

"Our crews are reporting that conditions are worsening as today's storm moves through. Roads are difficult to navigate with limited visibility. This can hamper restoration efforts," JCP&L reported.

Here is a breakdown of the outages by JCP&L:

PSE&G is reporting a total of 14,006 county customers without power with the most in Franklin with 3,692 followed by North Plainfield with 3,092.
