BEDMINSTER, NJ — President Donald Trump has canceled plans to visit his golf club in Bedminster this weekend.

The White House initially gave no reason for the cancellation of the Bedminster weekend, according to the White House pool report. But Trump later tweeted a reason:

When asked if the cancellation of Trump's visit involved New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy's 14-day quarantine, White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere said, "It has nothing to do with that." Read More: Murphy: Trump Does Not Need To Quarantine For Bedminster Visit

New Jersey, New York and Connecticut's "joint travel advisory" directs people coming in from states with a high infection coronavirus rate — such as Arizona, where Trump recently visited — to quarantine for 14 days. Murphy said Trump was exempt from this rule.

"The president of the United States is not a civilian. Anyone who is in close proximity to him, including staff, guests, and press are tested for COVID-19 and confirmed to be negative," Deere said in regard to the quarantine, according to CNN.

The Federal Aviation Administration also canceled its temporary flight restriction for VIP movement in the Bedminster and Morristown areas.

This would've been Trump's second visit to Trump National Golf Club this summer. He recently visited his golf club two weeks ago for a re-election campaign fundraiser.

A rally in support of Trump is still being planned in Bedminster at the Clarence Dillon Public Library, 2336 Lamington Road. Supporters are encouraged to bring patriotic Trump gear. For more information on the rally, visit the Facebook event page here.
