Primary Election Candidates: Who's Running In Basking Ridge
The only race in Basking Ridge is uncontested after Monday's filing deadline.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — It appears there will be an uncontested primary election in Bernards Township, with only one Republican and one Democrat who filed a petition to run in 2019.
Candidates had until 4 p.m. on Monday to file petitions for election.
There is one uncontested candidate in each primary running for one township committee seat:

- Republican: Janice Fields
- Democratic: Sophia Chadda
Both are newcomers and are running for their party's nomination on June 4 and then will move on to the general election on Nov. 5
Voters have until May 14 to register for the primary election.
