REAL-TIME RESULTS: Bernards Township Election 2018

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — It appears republicans may have claimed the Township Committee seats in Bernards Township, according to unofficial results being reported by Somerset County.

Mail ballots are being counted Wednesday it is unclear if all of the ballots are accounted for yet.

Township Committee:

There are four candidates vying for two three-year seats on the township committee including: Democrats Robert J. Mascia and Joan B. Harris and Republicans John Surano and Joseph Esposito. (click on the candidates name for a profile)

Current issues facing the township committee include: affordable housing and the quarry property.

School Board:

There is no contested race for school board with three candidates vying for the three three-year seats open including: Robin McKeon, Timothy M. Salmon and Karen Richman running. There is also a one one-year unexpired term with Suzanne Schafer Skalski running.

Somerset County:

The county freeholder race is also contested with four candidates vying for two three-year seats.

Incumbent Republican candidates include Patrick Scaglione and Mark Caliguire. Democrat challengers include Sara Sooy and Shanel Robinson.
