On Tuesday, March 22nd, students in Mrs. Kupiec's and Mrs. Bologno's Italian classes took the National Italian Exam. The exam assesses language learning, evaluates the effectiveness of the Italian curricula, increases enrollment in Italian courses, prepares students for the AP Italian Language and Culture Exam, rewards excellence in Italian, allows students to become recipients for scholarships, and prepares students to take the SAT II in Italian. There is a contest associated with the exam, and students have the potential to receive cash awards for First Place ($250), Second Place ($200), Third Place ($150), Fourth Place ($100), and Fifth Place ($50). Additionally, those students (approximately 24) who receive an Honorable Mention will be awarded $50 each by the Societa Onoraria Italica. Good luck to all!
