Ridge Forensics Opens Season By Winning Yale Tournament
This weekend, the team is holding auditions to welcome new members to the reigning State Champion team.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — This past weekend, the Ridge Forensics speech & debate team started the season strong by taking first place at the 32nd Annual Yale Invitational, beating out 174 schools across 24 states.
Additionally, two individual Ridge competitors beat more than 1,000 students to champion their respective events, with more competitors advancing to elimination rounds.
The champions included: junior Faye Fletcher (Informative Speaking) and sophomore Aryav Gaddam (Junior Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate). Finalists included: senior Celine Huang (Original Oratory, 2nd), juniors Aparna Iyer (Extemporaneous Speaking, 3rd), and Faye Fletcher (Oral Interpretation, 4th).

The following students excelled in their performances at Yale as well: seniors Andrew Cui (Congressional Debate, Semifinalist), Sky Rose Jaamann (Informative Speaking, Semifinalist and Original Oratory, Quarterfinalist), Ami Singh (Original Oratory, Semifinalist), James Mathai (Original Oratory, Quarterfinalist); juniors Sherry Antil (Extemporaneous Speaking, Semifinalist), Zoey Qin (Congressional Debate, Semifinalist), Jia Aggarwal (Congressional Debate, Semifinalist), Meera Shah (Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate, Double-Octofinalist); sophomores Anya Animesh (Junior Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate, Semifinalist), Amandeep Manda (Junior Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate, Semifinalist), Charan Pyloore and Naitik Narang (Junior Varsity Public Forum Debate, Quarterfinalists), Aditi Terli and Vivian Liu (Junior Varsity Public Forum Debate, Quarterfinalists).
David Yastremski, Director of the team, says: "This was an excellent start to the season. Every student really pulled through over the summer, as well as these first few weeks of the school year, to prepare. We can’t wait to see what this new season will bring!"
