Ridge High School Nominated For Best Musical In NJ

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge High School is among those nominated for Paper Mill Playhouse's 2022 statewide Rising Star Awards.

Each year, schools compete to get their musical noticed.

This year's nominees were announced on May 2. The winners will be announced live on June 6.

Ridge High School was nominated in multiple categories in connection with the musical "Matilda" including:

• Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical
• Outstanding Leading Performer In A Female-Identified Role - Libby Schmitt as "Matilda"
• Outstanding Supporting Performer In A Female-Identified Role - Rachel Vanek as "Miss Honey"
• Outstanding Supporting Performer In A Male-Identified Role - Oscar Grob as "Mr. Wormwood"
• Outstanding Performance By A Featured Ensemble Member - Gabriel Subervi as "Escapologist, Doctor"
• Outstanding Performance By A Chorus
• Outstanding Performance By An Orchestra
• Outstanding Achievement By A Teacher Or Outside Director - Martha Harvey
• Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction - Carol Beadle
• Outstanding Achievement In Choreography and Staging - Rachel Miranda, Jennifer Digiuseppe
• Outstanding Scenic Achievement - Jason M. Stewart
• Outstanding Lighting Achievement - Dallas Harvey
• Outstanding Costuming Achievement - Bonnie Grube
• Student Achievement Award - Jordan Perla, Student Director
• Rising Star "Theatre For Everyone" Inclusion And Access Award
• Outstanding Educator Award - Martha Harvey

Award Announcements

Tickets to the live Rising Star Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 6 will be made available to final nominees via their school contact on May 4.

The Rising Star Awards will be live-streamed for free on Monday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. Visit PaperMill.org for more information and log-in details.

Scholarship applicants and recipients will be notified by email the week of May 9.
