Ridge Ski Team Takes Fifth for boys, Seventh for Girls at States
Ridge Boys Ski Team Take Fifth Place and Ridge Girls Ski Team Take Seventh Place at 2020 New Jersey State Championships
Ridge boys and girls ski team raced at the New Jersey Interscholastic Ski Racing Association State Championships this past Friday and Sunday at Mountain Creek, NJ. Ridge competed with two giant slalom runs and two slalom runs at the championship race. There were 12 girl’s teams and 11 boys’ teams competing with both public and private schools being represented across the state.
Ridge boys team placed fourth in slalom with a combined time (5:25.10) and fifth in GS (6:06.04). Ridge girls team placed fifth in slalom with a combined time of (5:43.13) and seventh in giant slalom (6:39.67).
The boys had three in the top 25 in GS, lead by senior Rishi Kundargi, 12th (1:28.60), Mark Minsch, 19th (1:31.13), Kieran O’Connor, 21st (1:31.45) and Zach Pedicone (1:34.90). Brandon Mark and Chris Campione rounded out the boys’ GS team.

The girls had two in the top 25 in GS, led by Annie Mohan, 13th (1:34.44), senior, Liz Ingraham, 19th (1:36.03), Aidyn Thompson (1:43.83) and Rachel Novick (1:45.37). MJ Pinto and Sofia Benitez rounded out the girls GS team.
The boys had three in the top 25 slalom race lead by senior, Rishi Kundargi, ninth (1:14.34), Mark Minsch, 13th (1:17.21), Kieran O’Connor, 20th (1:20.90) and Sean Caricich (1:32.65). Brandon Mark and Chris Campione rounded out the boys’ slalom team. Mark Minsch shared “Overall it was a great season, with lots of improvement from everyone.”

The girls had two in the top 25 slalom race, led by Annie Mohan,13th (1:18.87), senior, Liz Ingraham, 18th (1:22.47), Aidyn Thompson (1:29.43) and Rachel Novick (1:32.36). MJ Pinto and Sofia Benitez rounded out the girls GS team.
This season was full of fun but also hard work... I’m glad we got to see it pay off,” Annie Mohan said.
Head Coach Fico shared “We are a young team with only 2 seniors on a squad of 38. While we certainly made some mistakes in these races we did a lot of good things as well. There's no questioning their work ethic so I can live with any result.”
