Ridge Speech & Debate Camp Opens Registration For Summer

The Ridge Forensics Speech & Debate Team invites students entering 5th through 9th grades to its July summer camp at Ridge High School.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge High School's nationally-acclaimed Forensics Speech & Debate Team is hosting its annual Summer Institute this July.

The camp invites students entering 5th through 9th grades from any school district to participate. The program aims to help students develop important life skills and confidence through speech and debate activities.

The institute will offer a combination of traditional speech and debate training alongside creative electives. These electives include Character Creation, Model Congress, and Becoming Digital Detectives, which focuses on outsmarting deep fakes and debunking viral myths.

Campers have the flexibility to attend one or both weeks of the program. The camp will take place at Ridge High School during the weeks of July 13 and July 20. Sessions are scheduled from Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. each day.

Registration for the camp costs $500 per student per week. However, an early bird discount is available for those who register before April 20. This early registration allows students to save up to $60 per week.

Proceeds from the institute will help offset costs for the team to compete at national tournaments in the upcoming year.
