Ridge Swimmers Struggle Against Bridgewater
Both girls and boys teams have tough day at the Somerset Hills YMCA.
Despite some notable performances, both the boys and girls swim teams lagged behind Bridgewater-Raritan High School's swim team in Tuesday's meet at the Somerset Hills in Basking Ridge.
The final scores were, for the boys team, RHS, 60 and Bridgewater-Raritan, 100. The Ridge girls team's score was 55, against 115 for Bridgewater-Raritan. Amanda Wachenfeld won two events for the girls team.
Some notable Ridge victories in the pool included:
Boys: Steve Raymes won the 200-meter individual medley 1:57:29.

Eric Chung won the 50-meter freestyle swim, 22:92.
Bradley Wachenfeld won the 500-meter freestyle swim, 4:57:67.

Girls: Amanda Wachenfeld won the 200-meter individual medley, 2:18:89, and and the 500-meter freestyle swim, 5:29:85.
The 400-meter freestyle relay was won by Jordan Hotz, Kristina Chung, Sarah Valente and Amanda Wachenfeld. The winning team won by by 7 seconds, with a combined time of 4:00:57.
The next game for the teams in at home against Watchung Hills Regional High School at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 4.
