Road Rage, Assault Reported On Route 206 In Somerset County
One driver opened the victim's car door, grabbed the victim's wrist and then hit the victim twice in the face with a fist, said police.
PEAPACK/GLADSTONE, NJ — Road rage and assault were recently reported on Route 206 in Peapack and Gladstone, according to the police blotter.
On March 5 at 7:27 p.m., two people from Kenvil reported they were driving south on Route 206 in the area of Burnt Mills Cider when a black Honda Civic stopped in front of them indicating that it was turning into the Cider Mill.
As the victims drove around the Honda the driver of the Honda "flipped them off" and followed the victim's vehicle, according to the report.

The driver of the Honda began to tailgate and flash their headlights at the victim. As Route 206 split into two lanes near Pfizer, the victims heard two items hit their vehicle, said police.
As both vehicles approached Holland Avenue, they were stopped by the red traffic light. The driver of the Honda then exited their vehicle, opened the victim's car door, grabbed the victim's wrist, and then hit the victim twice in the face with a fist, said police.

The driver of the Honda then fled the area. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

On Feb. 28 between 4 and 6 p.m., a resident of Bernardsville visited Natirar Park. The victim said that he parked his Lexus SUV in parking lot D and hid his wallet under the backseat of the vehicle. When the victim returned to his vehicle, he noticed that his wallet was missing. Shortly after, the victim received notification from his financial institution that fraudulent charges were attempted on his debit card. The victim stated he may have accidentally left his vehicle unlocked since there were no signs of forced entry.
**The Peapack & Gladstone Police would like to remind everyone to make sure their vehicles are secured and their personal belongings are out of view.
On March 2, Cpl. Paul Morris and Det. Nicholas Ortiz received a call from the Chester Township Police via Morris County Communications saying that an individual was possibly operating a black Tesla under the influence of alcohol while traveling on Route 206 south near Pottersville Road. The operator of the Tesla from Chester Township, was found by officers of the Bedminster Township Police Department on Route 206 near Interstate 287 and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
**The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On March 14 at 5:55 p.m., Officer Matthew Kelly and Officer Luke Tamburello received a call from the Piscataway Township Police Department advising that they had a warrant for a person who may be working at Pfizer, 100 Rt. 206. Officer Kelly contacted Pfizer Security and confirmed that the wanted person was currently working on campus. Officer Kelly and Officer Tamburello went to the Pfizer Campus and found the person, Carlos Villegas of Middlesex. Villegas was placed under arrest for contempt of a judicial order and taken to police headquarters. Villegas was then turned over to the Piscataway Township Police Department.
