Saudi-Backed LIV Golf Tournament To Return To Trump National In Bedminster
Survivors and families of 9/11 protested and vocalized their objections to the Saudi Arabian-funded golf series last year in Bedminster.
BEDMINSTER, NJ — The controversial Saudi-backed LIV Golf Tournament Series will be returning to Trump's National Golf Club in Bedminster as part of its 14-event series, according to si.com.
The Bedminster location off Lamington Road will host the 11th stop of the tournament from Aug. 11 to 13 at the golf club owned by former President Donald Trump, according to si.com.
Along with Bedminster, Trump's golf clubs in Washinton, DC and Miami, Florida are also listed as stops on the tour.

As of Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., the official LIV Golf website livgolf.com does not list Bedminster. Only seven events are listed on the site currently.
A request for confirmation from LIV Golf about the Trump National Golf Club additions to the tournament was not immediately answered.

The 9/11 families specifically pointed to the Saudi government’s role in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Saudi's attempts to "sports wash" and the willing complicity of professional golfers choosing to take Saudi payouts during the protest.
In 2017, Trump's golf club off Lamington Road in Bedminster, Somerset County, had hosted the U.S. Women's Open. The club was set to host the PGA Championship 2022, however, that was terminated in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021 riots at Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
"The PGA of America Board of Directors voted tonight to exercise the right to terminate the agreement to play the 2022 PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster," said Jim Richerson, president of the PGA of America. Read More: Trump National In Bedminster Loses PGA Golf Championship
The decision came days after five people were killed, including two police officers, when a mob of President Trump's supporters rioted at Capitol Hill.
