Schembre & Gannon Readers' Choice for Best Tax Accountants

John Gannon, a Basking Ridge resident who is a CPA and partner at , with an office in the Dewy Meadow Shopping Village, says he'll help you with your tax returns even now.

Although there were more readers than voters in this week's competition, Schembre & Gannon received the greatest number, 37 percent, or six votes, of the 16 votes cast.

"I am honored to win as the best CPA," Gannon said on Friday morning.

Gannon said the firm continues to serve those in need of tax assistance. "I am taking people now until April 17," he said, referring to this year's extended tax deadline.

Another Basking Ridge accountant, who received four votes, or 25 percent, said she will talk to anyone in need of a tax preparer, but most likely would seek to file an extension for the deadline.

The firm of also received four votes, and accountant received two votes.

Paul Keating, a CPA at Wasilewski & Keating, said the firm will help people in getting their taxes done, but may need to file for an extension. "It depends," he said, defining someone who definitely would need an extension as a client who comes in with a shoe box full of paperwork. But, "We are here and can assist people," he added.
