Science and Art Projects Showcased at Oak Street School Expo

Over 120 students in grades K-5 exhibited their science projects at Oak Street Elementary School on Friday, March 21. This year's Science and Art Expo was the largest to date, a reminder of the widespread impact of arts and sciences on our community and children.

The Science Expo is not a competition but exists to foster learning and improve public speaking skills. Students were introduced to the scientific method outside the classroom as they created experiments and displays of their choosing.  The goal at Oak Street School is to pique students’ interest and endorse the world through science.

In addition, the creativity of over 600 Oak Street students was proudly displayed at the Art Expo. Artwork was created throughout the year with art teachers Jennifer Braun and Lisa Roman. Art was further explored by using interactive installations created by the students on Expo night.  Students recreated life-size, famous portraits, constructed flowers for our community “art-garden” and made their mark on the graffiti wall exploring art in real time, 3-D.
