Search Continues For Bernards Township Shared Court

Bernards Township could not reach an agreement on joining a shared court with Bedminster, Peapack Gladstone, and Bernardsville.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township could not reach an agreement on joining a shared court with neighboring towns Bedminster, Peapack Gladstone, and Bernardsville, the township announced Tuesday.

Despite the news, the township remains interested in pursuing this option with other towns.

"The Bernards Township Committee decided it is in the Township’s best interest to take it’s time and explore other options," according to the township's release.

The township had begun exploring sharing a court with the three neighboring towns in September.

The release went on to thank those involved for their efforts in exploring this opportunity including Bernards Administrator Pat Monaco, CFO Sean McCarthy, Human Resources Manager Emily Kesselmeyer, Bedminster Administrator Judy Sullivan, Bedminster Mayor Jacobs, and the municipalities of Peapack and Bernardsville and their staff.
