Smash, Throw Pumpkins At Basking Ridge Farm

A Pumpkin Smash will be held at Dogwood/English Farm to be used as food for the chickens and pigs and help to relieve stress.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Let out some stress while giving your pumpkins a second life, by throwing and smashing them this Saturday.

On Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Bernards Township Environmental Commission, together with the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the Health Department, are sponsoring a Pumpkin Smash at Dogwood/English Farm at 3625 Valley Rd. in Liberty Corner.

This is the second year we have done this event. The tagline is "Don't Trash It, Smash It".

"The event keeps the pumpkins out of the landfills, gives the pumpkins a second life as food for the chickens and the pigs and helps to relieve anxiety," said Bernards Township Environmental Commission Chairwoman Debra DeWitt.

Residents are invited to bring their old pumpkins to Dogwood Farms/ English Farm to safely smash and throw the pumpkins. No registration is required.
