BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Smoke reportedly was coming from several apartments in the Spring Ridge complex on Thursday afternoon.

At around 1 p.m. firefighters in Bernards Township went to the complex off Spring Valley Boulevard and found that a motor in a furnace unit may have caught fire and sent the smoke throughout the building, said Liberty Corner Fire Company Chief Ron DePasquale.

"The fire was extinguished by securing the power and gas to the building. There were no injuries reported," DePasquale said.
