Smoking, Vaping To Be Prohibited In Basking Ridge Parks In 2019

Signs will be posted at the parks and on township websites to announce the new law.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Beginning in the new year, smoking and vaping will not be permitted in outdoor public areas in Bernards Township parks.

The new rule will go into effect on Jan. 16, 2019, the township announced. Signs will be posted at the parks and on township websites to announce the new law.

This new law comes after the NJ state legislature passed a law extending the existing prohibition of smoking and vaping in indoor public areas to all municipal parks in the state. Golf courses are excepted from the law.
