Somerset County COVID Cases Still High: See Local Updates

Here's the town-by-town case positive coronavirus case growth rate in Somerset County as of Sept. 4.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County continues to see high coronavirus cases. But what is each town reporting? (See town-by-town totals below.)

The county averaged 42 new cases per day in the past week, while averaging 48 new daily cases the prior week, according to the New Jersey Department of Health.

All of New Jersey is under a "high" transmission level of coronavirus, according to the latest rankings by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Some health officials have pointed to the more contagious delta variant as a major factor behind the recent spread. In its weekly COVID-19 Variant Surveillance Report that ended Aug. 7, the New Jersey Department of Health noted that a whopping 94.1 percent of all variant cases were the delta variety – up from 9.7 percent in December 2020.

  • Bernards Township - 29 cases
  • Bernardsville Borough - 5 cases
  • Bound Brook Borough - 11 cases
  • Branchburg Township - 12 cases
  • Bridgewater Township - 42 cases
  • Far Hills Borough - 1 case
  • Franklin Township - 49 cases
  • Green Brook Township - 10 cases
  • Hillsborough Township - 29 cases
  • Manville Borough - 11 cases
  • Millstone Boro - 0 cases
  • Montgomery Township - 13 cases
  • North Plainfield Borough - 25 cases
  • Peapack-Gladstone Borough - 1 case
  • Raritan Borough - 12 cases
  • Rocky Hill Borough - 1 case
  • Somerville Borough - 15 cases
  • South Bound Brook Borough - 12 cases
  • Warren Township - 6 cases
  • Watchung Borough - 9 cases
