Somerset County Makes Paratransit Changes To Fight Coronavirus

The Somerset County Division of Transportation announced paratransit services will be limited to dialysis appointments.

The Somerset County Division of Transportation announced that, starting Friday, March 20, paratransit services will be limited to dialysis appointments only.

“In an effort to help ‘flatten the curve’ and reduce the spread of the coronavirus, we also need to stop running county shuttles, including DASH, SCOOT and CAT,” said Freeholder Melonie Marano, public works liaison

“We did not make this decision lightly,” said Freeholder Director Shanel Y. Robinson. “We are extremely concerned about the impact COVID-19 is having on unemployment rates and our low-income families. However, we are extremely concerned about the health and safety of all our residents and employees.”

Transportation will continue to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound residents.
