"Twenty years ago, our nation was rocked by the terror attacks on New York City, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania," said Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson. "We came together as a country that terrible day, and it is vital that we commemorate that spirit of community on this 20th anniversary as we recover from the historic flooding caused by Hurricane Ida."

Flags at county facilities will be flown at half-staff in accordance with the congressional mandate passed in December 2001.
