BASKING RIDGE, NJ — 'Tis the season for heartwarming news. The law firm of Lyons & Associates, P.C., which has a location in Somerville, has taken on a case pro bono to help a client to offer the gift of adoption process as a surprise holiday gift for her father.
Since the age of 11, an anonymous client has been raised by her stepfather. She is now in her 30s and a parent of her own children.
Even though she was never formally adopted by her stepfather, she always considered him to be her "real father."

To surprise him this holiday season, the client reached out to the attorneys at Lyons & Associates for help in declaring him her legal father through the process of adoption to show him her gratitude for his decades of love and support for her.
So moved by her story, attorneys Mark T. Gabriel and Sara E. Kucsan decided to handle the adoption proceedings for the case pro bono.
