Somerset County Senior Centers Closed Wednesday

Additionally, the Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center of Somerset County is closing early Wednesday at 5 p.m.​

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Due to the predicted snowy weather, Somerset County senior centers will be closed on Wednesday. The centers include: Hillsborough, Montgomery, Quail Brook, Warrenbrook and the Senior Wellness Centers in Basking Ridge and Bridgewater.

There will be no Meals on Wheels deliveries on Wednesday as well. Clients are asked to use non-perishable meals sent out earlier in the season. If clients do not have frozen meals, or if they have lost power, they can use Heater Meals, shelf-stable meals that come in an orange box. Directions for heating are on the box. Heater Meals are not intended for use in a microwave oven.

The Office on Aging and Disability Services, located in the Department of Human Services building at 27 Warren St. in Somerville, will be closed to walk-in traffic after 12 p.m. Clients and caregivers needing information or assistance may call 908-704-6346 or toll free 1-888-747-1122 to speak with a specialist.

Governor Phil Murphy has declared a state of emergency and a commercial truck ban on state highways. There is a possibility of 2 to 5 inches of snow and freezing rain expected and a winter weather advisory has been issued in all 21 New Jersey counties, with the majority of the snow falling between 2 and 5 p.m. (See Related: Hour-By-Hour Forecast Of NJ Winter Weather)
