Songbird's Christmas Eve of Giving
The Songbird Volunteer Group helped to carve turkey and ham for the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program's annual Homeless Christmas dinner.
On Christmas Eve, The Songbird Volunteer group made their way to the United Reform Church, to help the SHIP (Samaritan Homeless Interim Program) with their annual Homeless Christmas dinner. Five Songbird volunteers helped carve and prepare trays upon trays of turkeys and hams for the 300-400 people that are estimated to arrive on Christmas day. The volunteers for S.H.I.P are all people who have been volunteering for many years, the majority of them being young people around the age of 30. The leader, Jim, often volunteers at different charities around New Jersey, helping at local jails and soup kitchens. When Jim is not donating his time to help those in need, he is an adjunct professor at Kane University! Much like Songbird, S.H.I.P is dedicated to spreading kindness and love every holiday season— that’s why, we implore you to sign up for S.H.I.P’s Easter soup kitchen to warm the hearts of others and celebrate the true meaning of the holidays!
