Stonehouse Road Reopened After Recycling Truck Crash In Basking Ridge

The road had remained closed since Monday night.

Update: Stonehouse Road in Bernards Township is now open, said Somerset County Public Safety around 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Stonehouse Road will remain closed for an extended period of time after a recycling truck crashed on Monday night, said Bernards Township Police on Tuesday.

"No opening timeframe is known at this time," said police around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

The road was initially closed on Monday around 6:20 p.m. following a crash involving a Somerset County Recycling Truck that went off the side of the roadway, destroying the guardrail and ending up on its passenger side, said Bernards Township Police Sergeant Steven Matthews to Patch.

No injuries were reported.

Detours are set in place at the intersections of Stonehouse Road and S Finley Road, and Stonehouse Road and Valley Road.

Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes.
