Tinted Windows Stop Leads to Marijuana Bust
A Bernards officer discovers under 50 grams of the drug after a motor vehicle stop outside the Martinsville Exxon.

According to a Bernards Township Police report, at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Friday, June 18, two individuals were taken into custody when marijuana was discovered after a vehicle was stopped near the Martinsville Exxon.
Officer Slawomir Zolnierowski of the Bernards Police pulled over a 2001 Audio with tinted front windows, according to Bernards Lt. Edward Reese.
"Officer Zolnierowski detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from within the vehicle," Reese said. "He questioned (the driver, Arturo Arguelles) Pina about the odor. Pina admitted that a marijuana pipe and marijuana were in the vehicle."

Pina, a 19-year old Bridgewater resident, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and obstructed view/tinted windows. The defendant was released without posting bail, and will appear before court at a later date.
The vehicle's sole passenger, Arnold Hines, a 27-year old Bridgewater resident, was also taken into custody because of an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Paramus Municipal Court. Hines was released after posting a $500 bail.
