Tuesday Township Committee Discussion on Bamboo Grille Liquor License Renewal
Two neighbors on Madisonville Road complained earlier this month of constant noise and music coming from the establishment.
The township clerk and one of the owners of the said a discussion is scheduled at Tuesday's Township Committee meeting about whether to renew the liquor license for the restaurant and related , given complaints from neighbor about music and noise coming from the establishment.
Two neighbors on Madisonville Road said earlier this month they must endure constant amplified music, cursing and the cheering of people on an outdoor patio on a number of evenings and Sunday afternoons.
One of the residents, Cathy Ross, said police and the Township Committee previously had tried to mediate a solution between the restaurant and neighbors. But she said the problem has continued, and she can hear music in her backyard and even indoors.

As a result, the Township Committee delayed action on renewing the liquor license for the Bamboo Grille and Fair Winds, even while approving the renewal of other township liquor licenses.
John Dourney, one of the owners of the restaurant, said the owners have been trying to work with the neighbors for the past few years, whether by reducing the number of hours of music or installing soundproofing materials.

"But we just can't seem to appease them, so we have a meeting tonight with the Township Committee," Dourney said on Tuesday afternoon. The public portion of the Township Committee meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at the municipal building at 1 Collyer Lane.
