Why Children Should Learn How To Code This Summer?

         We all know the importance of learning a foreign language. Some choose to learn it in high school and some learn it in elementary school.  So what foreign languages are out there?  There are Spanish, French, Chinese, etc.  Now you can add more languages to that list: Python, Alice, Scratch and many others.  Coding has become another language that everyone should know if they are going to be successful in the second decade of the 21st century.  Like learning another language, each programming language comes with it own sets of syntax and rules.

         These days everyone will casually claim that kids should code without fully understanding the dedication involved and significance of learning to code.  As with any discipline or sport, the younger kids are exposed to, the better they will be in general.  And therefore, a better chance to excel in the field.  However, at the end of the day, coding might not be for everyone if you don’t put in the “right” effort, just like a foreign language or sport.
