Essex County Teen Dies In Dirt Bike Crash: Police

BELLEVILLE, NJ - A fatal dirt bike crash in Belleville claimed a 13-year-old boy on Tuesday, authorities said.

When police arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Joralemon Street and Garden Avenue, they found a juvenile male unresponsive. A preliminary investigation found that he was riding a dirt bike on Joralemon Street when he lost control and struck a utility pole, police said in a statement.

The victim was transported to Clara Maass Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The investigation is still active and ongoing.

“We ask that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers,” Belleville police wrote.
