2 Auto Burglary Sprees Launched In Nutley On Same Day: Police
Nutley police have charged a 16-year-old and a 22-year-old from Newark with committing a series of auto burglaries in the township.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police have charged a 16-year-old and a 22-year-old with committing a series of separate auto burglaries in the township last month.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to more than a dozen auto burglaries on Sept. 5, including residences on North and South Spring, Garden Avenue, Garden, Alexander, Enclosure, Edgar and Wayne.
Last week, Nutley police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile from Newark and charged him with burglary to autos on Enclosure and Edgar. Police suspect that two other juveniles accompanied the youth to Nutley during the incidents.

In a separate arrest, police apprehended Robert Lilly, 22, of Newark, and charged him with eight counts of burglary. Police suspect Lilly may be responsible for additional burglaries, authorities said.
Lilly and the arrested juvenile allegedly hit the Nutley cars on the same day in a “coincidence” and weren’t acting together, Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco said.
