2 Belleville Cars Stolen, Recovered In Newark: Police

A pair of Belleville residents reported stolen vehicles on the same day last week, police say.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A pair of Belleville residents reported stolen vehicles on the same day last week. Both were recovered in Newark, police say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, the following incidents were reported on Monday, Jan. 22:

  • Baldwin Place – 7:39 a.m. - The victim stated he was warming up his vehicle and had gone back inside home. Upon returning 10 minutes later, he discovered the vehicle gone. Taken was 2003 VW Golf. The vehicle was recovered in Newark the same day.
  • Columbus Avenue – 8:30 a.m. – The victim stated she had parked her vehicle in front of her house. Upon returning at a later time, she discovered the vehicle was missing. Taken was a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was recovered in Newark on the same day.
