BELLEVILLE, NJ — Sandy has been found. But the search for Danny – a pit bull puppy who disappeared along with his sister last week - continues.
According to a social media post that was shared by the Belleville Police Department, a pair of three-month-old, black, “pit-mixed puppies” were stolen from a Belleville home on Jan. 30. The dogs respond to “Sandy,” “Danny” and “Puppies.”
The post adds that the puppies have a “heartbroken,” one-year-old mother, Rizzo.

Although Sandy has been located thanks to the efforts of the Belleville, Bloomfield and Newark police departments, Danny remains missing, the post stated.
Authorities told CBS New York that the man who had Sandy said that he bought one of the dogs “from someone on the street.”

On Saturday, Belleville police stated that they were seeking a “person of interest” in the alleged dog theft, which took place in the area of Bridge Street. (See below photo)
“At this time, he is only a person of interest and we would like to interview him,” Belleville police stated. Anyone with information can call the BPD at 973-450-3333.
Tiffany Cabrera, who was fostering the dogs through nonprofit East Coast Canine Rescue, told CBS New York that she just wanted the dogs back safe from their abductor… no questions asked. “All they had to do was apply and they could have had them legally,” she said.
