$450 In Tolls After Nutley Resident’s E-ZPass Account Gets Hacked: PD

A Nutley resident reported that somebody hacked their E-ZPass account and racked up a bunch of unpaid charges, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley resident recently reported that somebody hacked their E-ZPass account, police said Friday.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the fraud was reported on Aug. 21. The victim told police that an unknown person added a new tag to their account. Charges on the account date back to April, and there are $450 in outstanding tolls.

The victim did not have any other fraudulent charges on their other accounts, police said.

E-ZPass was alerted about the situation, authorities added.
