Belleville Celebrates 'Read Across America' Day Yesterday

Grade schools yesterday celebrated Read Across America Day, an event sponsored by the National Education Association to encourage a love of books among the young. Celebrity readers, including First Lady Michelle Obama, entered classrooms across the country March 2, the  birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss, who penned classics like Green Eggs and Ham that have inspired generations of readers. 

Pictured is the celebration of the day at School 10, which was decorated with Seuss-themed paraphernalia like red-and-white striped top hats (familiar to Seuss fans the world over from the author's classic, A Cat in the Hat.
