Crash Claims 35-Year-Old Nutley Motorcyclist’s Life: Police

A Nutley man died after his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a Nissan Rogue on E. Passaic Avenue, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A fatal accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Nutley on Thursday, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle rider took place on E. Passaic Avenue at 7:17 p.m. Nutley police, fire and rescue units responded to the scene.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office (ECPO) and the Nutley Police Department are investigating the accident, authorities said Friday.

The ECPO released the following statement about the crash:

"Timothy Keller, 35, of Nutley was killed last night when his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a Nissan Rogue at approximately 7 p.m. The motorcycle was traveling north on East Passaic Avenue in Nutley. The driver of the car was preparing to turn into her driveway when the motorcycle driver lost control and struck the car, throwing the driver off the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital [in Newark]."

No charges have been filed against the driver of the car. An investigation is ongoing, prosecutors said.
