NUTLEY, NJ — An employee at a college campus in Essex County recently made an unpleasant discovery while driving home from work, authorities say.
According to the Nutley Police Department, an employee of Eastwick College reported a case of criminal mischief at police headquarters on Aug. 17.
Here's what happened, police said:
"The employee stated they when they left work that night, about five minutes into driving, they lost their power steering and was unable to pull over. The employee stated they were eventually able to pull over into a gas station, then noticed someone placed a sawed-off metal object between the back of the front driver's side wheel and the car body."
The detective bureau was notified of the incident, Nutley police said.
